recosys has developed StreamShot, a software platform for real time recognition, interpretation and verification of documents and manufactured items. StreamShot is an enabler for value-generating use cases demanding highest accuracy and speed.

The secret is a lightning fast and precise recognition and interpretation engine which requires little resources. recosys managed to develop an OCR engine which is about 50 times faster than other OCR products. This speed advantage can be exploited to process video streams instead of still images. Thereby a maximum of information is extracted right at the origin. When combined with business logic located on the local device, decisions can be moved from backend servers to the end customer.

Omnidirectional recognition largely improves usability. Feedback can be given instantly as “augmented documents” by tracking objects.

When reading all information available, new “holistic” approaches for interpretation can be implemented. Instead of searching for specific layout patterns, complex results emerge from all recognition results by searching for correlated patterns.

By making recognition and interpretation results accessible in a multitude of formats, recosys enables 3rd parties to build powerful real-time applications.
